Graduation Portfolio

The Graduation Portfolio Overview

Introduction
Prior to graduation from the San Diego Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS), seniors will be required to create a Graduation Portfolio. This exciting process includes the development of a portfolio, project, and a presentation that demonstrates knowledge in various subject areas and illustrates your competency in those areas. This experience has proven to be useful because it prepares JCCS graduates for the world of work and higher education allowing them to acquire important skills along the way. These skills include: oral and written communication, research techniques, increased awareness of future opportunities, and the perseverance necessary for success.

The following resources will be available to all students:

Who Must Complete the Graduation Portfolio?

Any JCCS student who desires to graduate with a high school diploma must complete the Graduation Portfolio. There are several ways to complete this process (see your teacher). Modifications are possible on an individual basis upon the approval of your teacher, your principal, and the JCCS executive director.

All JCCS students who have reached senior status (166 credits) are strongly encouraged to begin the Graduation Portfolio.

Students entering JCCS as seniors should begin the process soon after a completion of a transcript review and verification of senior status by their teacher, school counselor or assessment staff.

To avoid being overwhelmed and to allow time to complete a quality project -don’t wait to the last minute to begin.

Hey Jeff,
It looks great. What would you like us to do? It looks like the book. My only question is: How do the kids complete the sections?I didn't see a way to download the papers to be filled in.
